Join us for a musical celebration of the new wave of Iranian female Singers. The incredibly talented Tara Salahi and Sanam Maroufkhani, with her newly formed trio perform their debut concert in Manchester.

Tara Salahi is a leading Iranian singer-songwriter known for her talent and determination. Even with the tough restrictions on female performers in Iran, she continues to make and perform music. Tara’s musical style is diverse, including opera, rock, and alternative rock. She performs both solo and with different groups. Her music not only highlights her amazing voice and songwriting skills but also inspires many women in Iran and around the world, showing that artistry and passion can thrive despite challenges.

Sanam Maroufkhani, born in Tehran in 1996, is an independent singer-songwriter, pianist, producer and lyricist based in Amsterdam. She is active not only as a singer-songwriter but also as a pianist and self-producer.
Currently, Sanam is honing her craft at The Conservatory of Amsterdam, where she is studying piano and voice with a specific focus on songwriting and music production. Her artistic journey is driven by a deep desire to bridge the gap between her eastern roots and the innovative approach of western songwriting in the realm of alternative pop music.

This performance is part of a series of concerts where talented Iranian female artists take centre stage to showcase their art, resilience, and determination to challenge the status quo.
